Before You Hire

Level of commitment

• Determine your own level of commitment to your business first! Do not expect your internet marketing company, web design team or web hosting staff  to be 100% committed to your business if you are not.  Determine if your business website is for your own entertainment or for actual  business. Based on your response, will determine if you should hire professionals from the start or develop a high tolerance for amateur level skills, wasted time, misguidance,  misinformation, verbal  hype and many trips to the bank. 

Location / Access

• Check the company website of the web designer or web host  you have in mind for contact information. Is the telephone number and Address clearly stated? Is the company located in your country or state? It is always better to call for a written quote request and brochure to determine how easy it is to contact the company you are considering.

Response Time

• How easy is it to contact technical support? Is there any staff members that can be contacted during normal business hours? How about after normal business hours?

References

• Check References. Existing clients who are happy with the services of their web designer and hosting company would not mind taking a call for reference purposes.

Why have separate companies?

• Once you select a web designer, you have to repeat the entire process to find a professional website hosting company or combined company. Downtime?  Backups? UPS Systems? Generators? Web Based Control Panels? Support?

• How is payment being made? Cash only,  or is the check being made out to a company?

Internet is home to false promises
